Biography

Béatrice Demachy is an actress and singer based in Paris. She is bilingual in French and English, (with some knowledge of German).

TRAINING

She was professionally trained as an actress in Paris by Jean PERIMONY, by drama coach Pascal LUNEAU, and in London by Nadine Georges at the Voice Studio. BD took singing lessons with Yaël Benzaquen and continues today at the Manufacture de la Chanson. She worked on improvisation in comedy with Caroline Archambault with whom she has followed several workshops. Béatrice also sings in a gospel choir, directed by Melissa Toto.

EXPERIENCE

Béatrice Demachy has performed under the direction of Jean-Louis Jacopin, Antoine Vitez, Jacques Lassalle and J-L Boutté at La Comédie Française. Béatrice has participated in a contemporary theater project with Joël Dragutin,”Tant d’espace entre nos baisers”. Alongside the theater, she sings in musicals which she features in her repertoire.She is also part of the a capella group Cas 6 with whom she sings in concerts “A demi-mot” and tours in France. She is creating a montage of songs of B.Brecht and K. Weill that she will produce and perform at L’Essaïon and other cabaret venues.

She has also appeared in TV series, recently with Pascale Pouzadoux, as well as in feature films, Nicole Garcia. She continues to perform on stage and also acts in lyrical productions at the National Opera de Paris.

She has built up her repertoire of cover versions of English and French pop songs accompanied by the guitar, for smaller venues, closer to the audience. She has been following the teaching of Zoé de Maistre for several years, and has deepened her relationship with the body and movement in aerial work on the static trapeze.
